  • High Performance Boards: The High Performance Boards programme examines issues related to board performance and effectiveness. The programme explores strategies, structures and processes that make boards the driving force behind their company’s success. It addresses the latest skills, tools and frameworks to boost your board’s performance and analyses of best practice case studies.

  • CEO development programme: TDCI’s CEO Leadership program is designed for business leaders (CEOs and senior managers) and aspiring business leaders who are looking to build upon their existing qualifications and business experience. The CEO program consists of four modules containing executive-level business frameworks, strategies, processes and leadership. Each module is supported by cutting-edge pre-reading material, expert-led course content, best-practice case studies, action learning reflection sessions and knowledge-based operational assignments.

  • Executive Leadership Team Programme: High-performing businesses require a cohesive board / leadership team that can direct and build their organisation’s effectiveness. Excellent leadership teams do not happen by chance. They require intention development and refinements in order to continuously improve. TDCI's range of expert led business psychology programmes, structures and processes; executive coaching / mentoring services; peer feedback processes, personal profiling (personality, values & thinking style) and analyses of  team dynamics enable Executive Leadership Teams to develop towards peak performance levels. Our leadership team interventions work towards increased team alignment, greater team cohesiveness, clarity of team goals and direction, excellence in team processes, performance and risk monitoring, and functional interpersonal relations.

  • General People Management & Leadership Programme: The aim of the People Management and Leadership workshop is to strengthen your current management and leadership skills with a powerful, more distinguished dimension. This workshop has been designed to enhance and build on your current leadership abilities. It will help all managers and leaders develop the essential skills to influence and motivate their staff to achieve exceptional performance. The programme provides the essentials necessary for supporting and sustaining your management qualities and performances. Maintaining a balance between achieving results and developing your people is the key to successful management. This workshop increases your awareness of your current leadership style and abilities. You will also appreciate the impact your leadership style has on those who work with you. The course provides you with a tool-kit of ideas to increase your leadership skills back in the workplace.

  • Supervisory / First line management development programmes: The Supervisory programme addresses the basic skills required to supervise the work activities of others. It provides the trainee with a full understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a supervisor/manager. The programme is based on Unit Standard -14667: Describe and apply the management functions of an organisation (Level 4; Credits 10). The programme can be further customised to suit the needs of the client. Participants can attend a three, five, six, nine or ten-day training programme. Delegates also need to complete a PoE as part of the programme. 

 

The aims of the supervisory skills programme are as follows: 

  1. To enable participants to grasp the full extent of the supervisory job so as to be able to integrate technical know-how, administrative skills and people-management skills. 

  2. To understand the role of the supervisor/manager

  3. To distinguish between a supervisor/manager and a sub-ordinate 

  4. To describe the management activities involved in running a successful business 

  5. To explain the basic activities involved in the management process

  6. To identify and explain the main tasks required of managers

  7. To apply the decision making process to make a management decision 

  8. To analyse and apply the general management functions

  9. To understand good supervisory practices

  10. To acquire specialised interpersonal skills

  11. To understanding team dynamics and be able to develop effective teams

  12. To acquire effective communication skills 

  13. To train and development team members through techniques such as on-job training, coaching and counselling. 

  14. To be able to manage the turbulent and dynamic work environment of the 21stcentury (change management)

  15. To create an enabling multicultural workplace (effective diversity management)

  16. To understand the forces that motivate and demotivate employees

  17. To implement effective time management strategies 

  18. To be able to effectively manage discipline in the workplace

 

Format and training methodology: 

The programme is highly interactive and experiential in nature. A variety of activities, simulation exercises, video clips, and group discussions are used to facilitate introspection and to achieve the workshop objectives. The activities included in the programme are determined by the specific outcomes of the programme. The facilitators create a safe environment for participants to explore and work with supervisory related issues. The approach of the training is facilitative rather than training oriented. Each participant receives a workbook that provides the necessary information and also guides the process. As part of the programme the delegates are guided in ways of transferring their newfound knowledge, skills and attitude to the work setting.
